Lydia was born and raised in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee. Lydia graduated magna cum laude from Tennessee Technological University (“TTU”), where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. While attending TTU, Lydia was accepted into the National Forensics Academy where she completed the prestigious, but intensive ten-week program. In addition to her academic involvement, Lydia worked a full-time job and volunteered her spare time as an intern at a firm in Cookeville.
Lydia received her Juris Doctorate from Nashville School of Law where she attended night classes. While in law school, Lydia honed her legal writing and research skills through her position as Senior Paralegal at a boutique family law firm in Nashville. Lydia's exposure to family court proceedings sparked her interest in family law, as well as her passion for estate planning.
After graduation and a successful score on the Uniform Bar Exam (“UBE”), Lydia was thrilled to accept a position as an Associate at GRIFFIN LAW GROUP, PLLC. Additionally, Lydia is a county commissioner for District 1 in her home county of Smith. In her spare time, Lydia enjoys going to the lake, kayaking, fishing, travelling, and spending time with her family, friends, and her Cavapoo, Remi.
